Artist's Statement:
"No more than what is essential, enough to make it elegant, simple, functional, worthy, enduring, and cherished."
I was influenced at an early age by the activities taking place at the blacksmith shop. Both traditional blacksmithing and modern techniques for working metal are used in the construction of my work. I like clean, simple design, using the joinery as the decorative element in the piece, mechanical fasteners, screws, bolts, rivets, tenons and staples are used whenever possible. My work is influenced by the Shakers, the Art & Crafts movement, Art Deco and other contemporary styles.
