| Woodstock, Vermont Artist Statement: "Art in any medium is magical to me. I love taking raw materials and transforming them into a visual statement. I want the image to be a representation of itself in a different perspective. Take a simple image and define it with color or shapes. Anna is our local favorite. Formerly an employee here at the gallery, her whimsical pieces seem to delight every one of all ages! Anna was born in Anchorage, Alaska and attended school in Connecticut, where she was given the opportunity to excel in art. During her prep school years she produced many covers to publications in the school and contributed in shows in and outside of the school. Studying independent art allowed Anna to explore many mediums, including oils, acrylics, serigraph and woodcuts. Anna graduated with a degree in liberal arts, followed by a masters in natural resource management allowing her to continue her real love- art. After living out west for several years Anna returned to live in Woodstock, Vermont to be more involved in the Upper Valley arts community. Her affection for nature and animals is portrayed in her art work. For several years she was our resident artist, before called back to join her family in Cape May, New Jersey. |
